COVID-19 in Lithuania: 412 new diseases, 12 people died

Twelve people died last day from COVID-19, belonging to groups between 60 and 99 years old, according to data published by the Department of Statistics on Sunday.

One deceased was between 60 and 69 years old, four between 70 and 79 years old, five between 80 and 89 years old, and two more died in the 90-99 age group.

All of these people died in hospitals.

The Statistics Department notes that the number of deaths per day is preliminary and can be replaced with records delayed within a few days.

A total of 3,551 people died in Lithuania from COVID-19. 7202 deaths are directly and indirectly related to this infectious disease.

The highest number of deaths from COPID-19, 1,274, belonged to the age group 80 to 89 years. The four dead were between 20 and 29 years old.

Last day, 6,026 molecular tests (PCR) and 1,108 of antigens on suspicion of coronavirus were carried out in the country.

The number of new cases in 14 days per 100,000 inhabitants is 305.4.

The proportion of positive diagnostic tests in the last seven days is 7.9 percent.

A total of 213,941 people have become ill with COVID-19 in Lithuania since the start of the pandemic.

Statistically recovered and there are currently 197 629 alive, declared – 154 276 recovered. Statistically, there are currently 8,527 sick people and the declared number of patients is 51,880.

The Department of Statistics considers that a person declared sick has a confirmed case and the end of the disease has not been confirmed by a doctor. A statistically ill person is one for whom illness has been confirmed in the last 28 days. After this period, the person is considered statistically healthy.

According to the department, the statistical rate of patients may be more accurate to assess the morbidity of the population, since among declared patients there may be cases in which the person is no longer ill but the family doctor has not confirmed the end of the illness. .

Lithuanian hospitals are currently treating 834 COVID-19 patients, 81 of them in resuscitation, the Statistics Department reported on Sunday.

Oxygen is added to 686 patients and 42 patients receive artificial lung ventilation.

83 people were hospitalized for COVID-19 per day.

On the last day, 2,997 people were vaccinated with the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, and 112 people were vaccinated with the second, the Statistics Department said Sunday.

A total of 324,250 people were vaccinated with the first dose of the vaccine in Lithuania and 150,711 for both.

Of the more than half a million doses of vaccine delivered to Lithuania, 474,961 were used.
