The Cabinet of Ministers plans to consider stricter coronavirus control measures next week, which would be introduced if the epidemiological situation in the country deteriorates.
Already at the beginning of August, the government introduced various public restrictions, such as the mandatory use of masks in supermarkets or on public transport.
Recently, companies that transport food or remittances home have also taken action on their own initiative.
DPD continues its delivery without contact
Last week, the parcel company DPD Lietuva announced that its couriers must maintain a safe distance of two meters from any contact with another person starting in August.
In addition, masks are once again mandatory for all couriers during delivery and collection of shipments without exception.

The company also found a way to deliver the shipment to the customer by courier without verifying their identification.
After placing the order, the recipient receives a four-digit code by SMS. Upon the arrival of the courier, the customer indicates the code, which the DPD Lietuva employee enters into the scanner.
If the code is correct, the courier can deliver the package to the resident. However, if the recipient does not have a PIN, the courier will need to show a valid identity document from a distance.
In addition, DPD Lietuva continues to deliver contactless shipments: they are left at a distance of 2 meters from the recipient, without direct contact with him.
If the recipient does not have the document or refuses to present it, the courier should offer to take a photograph of the recipient near the shipment from a distance of 2-3 meters. Shipments will be photographed upon delivery to companies.
Postmen are forbidden to enter the house.
The Lithuanian state mail also took stricter measures.
“We have substantially returned all the measures that were in place to ease the quarantine conditions in the spring,” 15 minutes said company spokeswoman Vaida Budrienė.
