Most of the new cases – 14 were registered in Kaunas county, 5 – in Vilnius, 2 – in Utena. Three of these cases are imported: people who returned from France, Belarus, England, the rest became ill after contact with infected people.

Almost all infected people experience symptoms. The asymptomatic form of the disease affects only 3 of the people confirmed on this day. Ten cases confirmed last day are associated with outbreaks that are already under investigation. The circumstances of the infection in five patients are unclear (unknown).

The NVSC reports that a significant proportion of those infected became infected with their family or colleagues, some of whom attended public events.

Two of the cases approved in Kaunas are related to the “Breakout – Taurage” excursion, with which a total of 13 cases are already connected. A person is a relative of a sick employee of the Kauno autobusai company, another case recorded in Kaunas is related to a table tennis tournament (this is the third case related to this object). An infected person stated that he had attended a circus performance in Kaunas. The coronavirus was also confirmed for two Kaunas Philharmonic choristers who were in isolation. One person fell ill after returning from France.

Of the five cases detected in Vilnius County, three are related to known hotspots: the virus was detected in two more employees of the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theater. Currently, all theater personnel are being actively investigated. A person was diagnosed with the disease upon his return from Belarus, the circumstances of a person’s infection are unclear.

One of the two cases detected in Utena is imported (the person who returned from England), the other case is related to an outbreak already registered. In all study cases, exposed individuals were identified and instructed to isolate for 14 days.
