“Last week, Lithuania took additional preventive measures against a mutated coronavirus strain detected in Denmark, Spain, Italy, the United States, the Netherlands and Sweden. As of November 23, travelers from these countries will no longer need a coronavirus test ”Said the ministry.

Furthermore, as of Monday, coronavirus tests will need to be isolated upon arrival in Lithuania from two other UK regions – Wales and Scotland, which are included in the updated gray area of the list of affected countries.

The map produced by the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control previously included the gray area in Northern Ireland, as well as in Liechtenstein, Switzerland and all third countries.

Ten days of isolation or a negative COVID-19 test of no more than two days is required upon arrival in these affected countries.

Depending on morbidity and other indicators, foreign countries are divided into green, yellow and red zones. Lithuania is classified as red, therefore the more stringent requirements for testing and isolation on arrival only apply to “gray” countries.

The gray area includes countries that do not provide data to the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control or that have 300 or fewer tests per 100,000 patients in 7 days. population.

Foreigners from third countries are prohibited from entering Lithuania, except for the exceptions provided by the Government.

The list of affected countries is published every Friday and goes into effect on Monday.
