“Ten cases were recorded in Vilnius County, two in Alytus County,” Rolanda Lingienė, head of the NVSC department in Vilnius, told BNS on Monday.
According to her, the coronavirus was confirmed in Vilnius by two employees of the Thoracic Surgery Department of the Santara Clinics.
“According to preliminary data, four more people are possibly related to infected people in this institution. These are family members or those with whom they had close contact, but really had contact,” said R. Lingienė.
According to the NVSC representative, a new case was also confirmed at the Antaviliai pension, a patient infected with an infectious disease.
“Two cases in Vilnius County are related to family illnesses. One case is still under epidemiological investigation, “he said.
According to R. Lingienė, in Alytus County, Lazdijai District, two family members became infected with coronavirus.
“We continue with the diagnoses, everything is still very fresh,” said the head of the Vilnius department at NVSC.
According to data from Monday, a total of 1,635 people in Lithuania were infected with the coronavirus.
There are still 426 infected, 1,138 have recovered, a total of 63 people have died from coronavirus and eight others have died from other causes.
