People ages 50 to 99 died of COVID-19 on the last day
Thirteen people died from COVID-19 last day, ranging in age from 50 to 99, according to data released by Statistics Lithuania on Friday.
Six deaths belonged to the age group 80 to 89 years, four to the age group 70 to 79 years, two to the age group 90 to 99 and one to the group 50 to 59 years.
All of these people died in hospitals.
The Statistics Department notes that the death toll is preliminary and can be filled in with records delayed within a few days.
A total of 3,225 people died in Lithuania from COVID-19. 6286 deaths are directly and indirectly related to this infectious disease.
The majority of deaths from COVID-19 (1,152 people) were in the age group 80-89 years. The three dead were between 20 and 29 years old.
942 COVID-19 patients are currently being treated in hospitals, 76 of whom are in resuscitation.
Lithuanian hospitals are currently treating 942 COVID-19 patients, 76 of them in resuscitation, Statistics Lithuania reported on Friday.
Oxygen is added to 788 patients and 43 patients receive artificial lung ventilation.
83 people were hospitalized for COVID-19 per day.
The coronavirus currently has 15 doctors and 51 nurses, nine and 20 in isolation, respectively.
In Lithuania, since the start of the pandemic, COVID-19 has affected 196 thousand people. 690 people.
According to the declared data, 55 thousand are still sick. 142 infected, but statistically it is estimated that the number of sick people should be significantly lower: 7697 people.

According to Statistics Lithuania, 538 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Lithuania on Thursday. 6 more people died.
On Thursday, Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė stated that the slowdown in the epidemiological situation could have been caused by increased population mobility.
“The simplest link is that last Monday part of the services and also part of the non-food points of sale, smaller stores, were opened. And we have seen very clearly the rapid increase in the mobility of people from day one, ”said the Prime Minister.
He also assured that we could start universal vaccination against COVID-19 in Lithuania in late spring.
