Six people died last day from COVID-19, ages 60 to 89, according to data released by the Statistics Department on Thursday.

Three of the dead belonged to the age group 80 to 89 years, two to the age group 70 to 79 and one to the age group 60 to 69 years.

The Statistics Department notes that the death toll is preliminary and can be filled in with records delayed within a few days.

A total of 3209 people died in Lithuania from COVID-19. 6,251 deaths have been linked to this infectious disease, directly and indirectly.

Most of the deaths from COVID-19 (1,146 people) were in the age group 80-89 years. The three dead were between 20 and 29 years old.

Hospitals are currently treating 983 COVID-19 patients, 87 of whom are in resuscitation.
