Due to six cases of COVID-19, Saturday’s LRT television program was changed: the live news program “Labas rytas, Lietuva” was not broadcast, the national broadcaster announces.
It is true that on Tuesday, the LRT reported an increase in cases; currently coronavirus has been confirmed in 9 employees.
On Saturday morning, LRT television replayed the programs “Morning Roll with Zita Kelmickaitė”, “Veranda” and “Generation Found (Pra) Found”.
New cases of coronavirus have resulted in the reshuffle of staff teams, testing and isolation from co-workers, and the adoption of other necessary security measures.
In order to ensure uninterrupted access to news to the public, for a year since the start of the first quarantine, radio and television program workers have divided into teams, working in shifts so that they can be replaced in disease event.
The LRT establishes that it applies additional measures to protect those employees who, due to the particularities of their work, cannot work remotely. Most of the LRT administration and news portal journalists work remotely.

There is a minimum number of guests: most interviews with experts and interviewers are organized remotely, but there are certain programs whose filming takes place in the studios. To ensure a safe environment, all rooms are cleaned, disinfected, and contact surfaces are sanitized more frequently than usual.
We want to emphasize that the public service broadcaster strictly requires that staff and guests comply with the requirements, and if violations are observed, it is reminded once again that efforts are made to prevent this from happening again.
An expert is invited to the study during the Euroleague broadcasts, because talking remotely would affect the quality: it would not be possible to analyze the game and draw the movement patterns of the players during the live broadcast. Efforts are made to maintain distance during such broadcasts and to keep participants in the room only to the extent necessary.
