“Concrete” at the entrances of the Zapyškis church – toilet that does not work for almost 30 thousand euros

The purchase amount is impressive, but it doesn’t work.

Toilet for the price of a new car. This is the name of the new purchase of the elderly Zapyškis from the Kaunas district municipality.

The Gothic church, which has been completed nearby, because the huge square of poured concrete at the entrances has received mixed reviews, the free-standing toilet still doesn’t accept “visitors.” Its doors are closed and the hanging inscriptions indicate that “the bathroom is not working due to technical obstacles.”

“What happened to the bathroom built towards the Zapyškis church, next to the bike path that leads to the Nemunas shore? He had opened the door, but it hadn’t worked for a while. Maybe it broke? Delfi readers asked.

The price of this toilet is 29 thousand. 596 euros. This was evaluated in the agreement signed by Elder Zapyškis with Klaipėda KT Modules on May 26 of this year.

The contract also specified the deadline for construction of the building at the specified location and ready for use. This is June 22 of this year. The contract also specifies the penalty, the fine the contractor would pay. For each day of delay, it is equivalent to 0.03 percent of the value of outstanding commitments.

The toilet is unlocked only on holidays.

After contacting the head of the local room, he explained that this building is unlocked only during the holidays, it has not been decided yet who will take care of the beautiful property.

“Simply (the toilet has not been added). It has not yet been added, it has not been completely fixed. There is still something missing there,” Delfi Sigitas Imbrasas, the elder of the elderly Zapyškis, who signed the purchase agreement, told the portal.

He clarified that the toilet was unlocked and operational on July 6. during the celebration, but closed again.

“There are still some problems with who will supervise him. During the celebration, we hired a man to look after us. If he wishes it this way, it is not clear what he will find,” said S. Imbrasas, the elder of Zapyškis.

When asked when this toilet would go into operation, the old man mentioned that everything should be resolved in a few months.

“We have a team to support him, just to unlock during the holidays. There is another open-air bathroom nearby, it is maintained and cleaned, ”said S. Imbrasas.

When asked why this, the new toilet cost so much, almost 30 thousand. The Zapyškis elder said he tried to buy it by paying as cheaply as possible, but after investing in home equipment, the price increased.

“You can do worse, but you do it once, you don’t want to be cheaper,” said the boss of the old woman from Zapyškis who bought the toilet.

The company claims that it has added a bathroom

Nikolai Bystriakov, director of the company that installed the toilet, TK Modules, was surprised to hear the question why it still doesn’t work.

According to the businessman, the company under his direction has fulfilled all the obligations and the object itself has been delivered to the client.

“I have received all the invoices from the subcontractors for the work done, I do not know how it can be omitted. The manager informed me that everything was done and that this object was already in the past,” said the head of TK Modules.

He clarified that no written complaints were received regarding the quality of the work or the equipment installed.

To Delfi’s knowledge, a deed of acceptance and transfer of the toilet was also signed, before it was installed in Zapyškis, all internal equipment was inspected and was working.

It is true that some technical problems may arise due to the fact that the container module was hastily built on a subsoil that has not yet been paved.

The bathroom will be operational after another job.

Edmundas Mališauskas, adviser to the mayor of the Kaunas district municipality, reported that the maintenance of the museum street, next to which is the new bathroom, is currently underway.

“The works are not finished yet, when everything is built, finished, then the bathroom will work. Many more things will appear here, pads, the dock is provided. It only takes a little patience, biotoilets are temporarily built,” said the advisor to the mayor of the Kaunas district, E. Mališauskas, and clarified that these projects are not related to the completed Zapyškis street, Church of John the Baptist and its surroundings.

To Delfi’s knowledge, this project for the management of the street leading to the Nemunas bank is curated by the well-known architect Kaunas Gintaras Prikockis, who was also in charge of the layout of the church and its entrances.

On July 2, the Kaunas District Municipality signed an agreement with the company Erdvė rule led by G. Prikockis on consultation for the complex layout of the Muziejaus Street portion and the adjacent territory. The contract provides for the payment of 12 thousand LTL for these services. euros

A little earlier, the company managed by G. Prikockis received LTL 83,000 for projects prepared for the restoration of the Gothic Church of Zapyškis and the improvement of its surroundings, which received a series of controversial evaluations. 867 euros.

The cost of “concreting” the entrances to the Gothic church of Zapyškis is hundreds of thousands of euros.

The municipality of Kaunas district has provided information on the cost of both maintaining the church and constructing a concrete square that has received much criticism.

The total value of the environmental rehabilitation and infrastructure installation works is 746 thousand. 118 euros. Of these, 170 thousand. EUR – European Union funds, 30 thousand. EUR – funds from the state budget.

The repair of the church building itself cost slightly more than the maintenance of its entrances. The total value of the works is 817 thousand. 241 euros, of which 587 thousand. 809 euros – European Union funds.

And the final cost of managing both projects, both the church and its entrances, is $ 1 million. 563 thousand 359 euros. This is 23.4 thousand. less than initially planned. All this work was carried out by the company Ekodora, which won the tender.
