On the occasion of the anniversary of death – a sensitive album
On Tuesday, followers of M. Varaška’s Facebook profile saw a sensitive memory dedicated to R. Žilinskas, who, according to the author of the post, could have become one of the best Lithuanian politicians.
“It has been 4 years since Rokas Žilinskas left. Why am I writing about this and why today, not Sunday?
First of all, because he was one of the few colleagues at the Seimas from whom he could learn. Not everything and not everything, but enough. The following years proved that, happily, under the circumstances, Rock could have been one of the best politicians in the country. But … It’s been four years. Like a possession of nonexistence.
Second … Because I’ve been surfing, googling, and looking around these days, will anyone remember it in public? Unfortunately. Tylu, ramu. Empty. On the other hand, we cannot be angry: we live forward and feelings are usually occasional and unique. At the same time, it is living proof to us. Whatever we are, after death we will disappear like smoke and we won’t care about anyone for half a year.
Third … Because, especially when monitoring LGBT and related issues today, whip constant statements about the first professional policy: gay, reluctant to oppose. No. Far from the dark to that. Rokas Žilinskas was the first to do it. Clearly named, but never raised homosexuality as the top issue in the state. However, by self-liberation and understanding of society, he did a lot.
Rest, Rokai. We will remember and we will not forget, ”the politician wrote.
He died after a serious illness.

R. Žilinskas received a state award – a commemorative badge “For his personal contribution to the Lithuanian presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2013” for his services to Lithuania.
Also – with the Order of the Golden Cross of the 3rd degree of the charitable foundation “Our shore”, news portal Delphi “Titan” for the most daring article-comment of the year: “The parade will be without me, and I will be without the parade.”
“Rock knew how to work as a professional. He worked with speed, precision and put a lot of demands on himself and his work. He tried to do everything diligently and honestly. When he was chosen for the Seimas, he only changed his image in public, but he remained the same with his friends, “said journalist Gintaras Deksnys about his colleague.
