COEC: Trakai District Mayor Seriously Violated Coordination of Interest Requirements

According to the COEC spokesperson, Eglė Ivanauskaitė, the commission found this Wednesday a serious violation due to the mayor’s repeated misconduct less than a year after the previous violation, also related to the aforementioned co-owner, and asks the court to impose a fine the politician.

According to her, the commission established that the family of E. Rudelienė and said person owned two pieces of land in equal parts, which is why said person poses a conflict of interest.

In October last year, the COEC discovered a violation that E. Rudelienė had repeatedly solved the problem of his co-owner when he was the director of a gym in the Trakai district. It was found that the mayor has repeatedly addressed issues related to his vacation, salary relationship.

The investigation was carried out after the COEC questioned the decision of the Ethics Commission of the District Municipality of Trakai, when it did not see violations by the mayor.
