On the central streets of Klaipėda, Kretinga and Gargždai, criminals are already being pursued by new speedometers. On some county roads, drivers will have their real forest: up to 12 speedometers will be built in the section between Dituva and Palanga alone.

The devices caused a stir

Two small cameras installed in the port city, on the Vilnius highway, near the “Banginis” shopping center, immediately aroused the interest of drivers.

The location of the smart meter was planned for a long time, but the installation of the device only started in the last few days.

On social media, the drivers discussed in which direction the device would operate.

Some claimed that the cameras would only capture streams, others discussed how fast they could fly through them, as the cameras were looking towards the Jakai roundabout.

An instant speedometer is installed here, which will record not only the speed of cars, but also all other parameters, if the machine is covered by civil liability insurance or has a technical inspection sheet.

Already intimidating drivers

In Gargždai, the speed measuring device is installed on Klaipėdos street, near the Iki shopping center.

On the central street of the city, the device will record not only the speed of cars, but also the fulfillment of all other necessary obligations for drivers.

Such a device can also check whether the driver of the car has paid the road user fee.

Everyone drives as they should: 50 km / h. speed. Fantasy.

Two facilities have already been installed in Kretinga. They are also found in the central streets of the city.

A metro is installed on the Kretinga – Palanga road, at the Viada gas station. Another appeared on Klaipėdos Street.

“Another device was built in Kretingale in early summer. For a long time, the warning sign on the meter was wrapped in film, so I guess the device has not yet started working. Fantasy”, the head of the police station Kretinga Police Officer Arūnas Pužauskas was happy.

Will install hundreds of devices

It is not yet clear when these devices will start working.

Mindaugas Džermeika, head of the Klaipėda Highway Police Service, said that the installed equipment usually starts working in a month or more.

“There is a need for verification, harmonization and metrological testing. However, it is clear that all these steps will not interfere with its operation. The system for the elaboration of the protocol and its transmission to the offender is working. The territorial commissions will no longer be involved in the processing of these protocols, the system itself works automatically “, assured M. Dzermeika.

It looks like there will be more of these smart speedometers in the future.

Currently, according to previously signed contracts, 70 new-generation instant speed meters and 100 average speed measurement systems (50 sections) are already installed on state highways.

The Lithuanian Highway Administration has signed another contract for the installation of 112 (56 sections) average speed measurement systems on state roads.

The contract, worth 1.9 million. he concluded with Fima.

The new meters are expected to be installed within 7 months from the entry into force of the contract.

Speedometer locations are determined by certain criteria.

Places are selected as black spots for such devices.

These are usually the most accidental sections, sections of road in which the highest speeding is recorded.

Will block in all directions

There are many places on the seashore for instant speedometers.

The Palanga-Šventoji road ranked fifth on the list of sections most prone to accidents.

Here, the sector meter is already built and operational.

The new generation instant speed control device should appear in the northern part of Palanga in the first stage planned by the Highway Administration, entering the city from the Šventoji side.

The meter is planned to be built on the Klaipėda highway, where it intersects with the Darbėnai highway and Ligonin street.

The instant speedometer is also installed on J.Basanavičiaus street in Skuodas.

Modern people will see modern equipment on Žaltakalnio street, going around the so-called Plungė Bypass and entering the city from the south.

The platelets will also receive the meter. The new generation speed control device will have a place on Didžioji street.

Plikiai can expect the same device, it should appear on Klaipėdos street.

Speed will be monitored with a meter even in Daukšaičiai village, Klaipėda district, on the Švėkšna – Daukšaičiai – Veiviržėnai road.

The meter must also appear in Švėkšna, on the Kvėdarna – Švėkšna – Sauga road.

On the old Žemaičiai road, a metro is planned in Endriejavas, on the Kryžkalnis – Rietavas – Vėžaičiai road.

A smart device to fight criminals on the central street of Šilutė. The meter will be at the intersection of H.Šojaus and Lietuvininkų streets.

Samogitian Naumiestis, Pagėgiai and Tauragė also have places for smart speedometers.

All facilities provided at these locations must be in place by December.

Speed will be measured everywhere

The Highway Administration reports that a large number of sectoral speedometers will need to be installed in April next year.

A couple of them will also appear on the way to Palanga. One meter will stop near the turn to Nemirset, and the other will stop measuring the average speed in front of the gas station on the road.

The Kretingiškės will also receive these pairs of meters. One device will remain standing as soon as you turn from Kretinga towards Darbėnai, and the other will appear just before Darbėnai.

In fact, it will not be possible to exceed speed along this road.

Those traveling from Klaipeda to Kretingale must be protected by the same device.

One part of the pair of this device will be right after crossing the Normantai intersection.

The second facility will be right in front of Kretingale.

Dodgeies who want to step on the accelerator immediately must remember that in front of them, two kilometers away, in the same Kretingale, they will have an instantaneous speedometer incorporated.

It will be installed in stages

There will be three meters waiting for Gargždiškės to go to Kretinga.

One will be in the center of town and the other two sector meters will measure speed as soon as you leave town.

The location of the first facility is planned in the village of Saulažoliai, and the next will be in Gribžiniai.

When driving from Vėžaičiai to Plungė, there will also be a sector meter.

The speed will be recorded as soon as you leave the city, and the second device will stop in the Jurjonai forest, without reaching Tilvikai.

Another such meter is planned on this road near Mažais Mostaičiai, and the meter device of the second sector will be located in Vieštovėnai, without reaching Varkaliai.

A pair of average speed meters will also appear on the Priekule bypass. The speed will be measured practically during the entire detour.

There will also be such a device for Safe. It will measure the speed between Safe and Silute.

There will also be a whole forest of calibers around Plungė.

In a first stage, in addition to the instantaneous speedometer, it is planned to install sector gauges on all the roads that leave the city.

First there will be one meter behind Vainaičiai, the second pair of which will be right in front of Plungė, driving from Rietavas.

A couple more meters will be on the Mažeikiai road, just after leaving Plungė.

Another phase to be implemented in 2022. June, a couple of meters will appear on the Kartena – Plungė road.

In fact, speed will be recorded throughout this section of road.

On the roads – 12 columns

However, most of the meters will appear around Klaipeda.

In the 40-kilometer stretch between Dituva and Palanga, 12 pillar installations will be built.

On the road leading to the complex, a sign will first appear between the Nemirseta Viaduct and Vydmantai.

In the next stage, until 2022. In summer, sector meters will have to be installed from the Jakai roundabout to Ginduliai.

As soon as Klaipėda residents cross the viaduct to Liepų Street, another sector meter will be waiting for them.

The first support of the device will be in the Slengiai settlement, the second metro will be near the Kalotė viaduct.

Another couple of meters will start to measure speed at Normantai and end at the turn to Girkaliai.

As soon as you turn onto Nemirseta, drivers will be greeted by another pair of indicators, practically the entire rest of the way to the resort you will have to drive as you should without exceeding the speed limit.

Four-meter poles will be built on the road between Klaipeda and Dituva.

Behind Jakai, the first couple of meters will run to the Rimkai intersection. The second will be built between Rimkai and Dituva.

The list of black spots published by the Highway Administration can also detect more places where new indicators may also appear.

For example, on the road to Deauville there are even two places, one in Kiškėnai and the other, in front of the city of Dovilai.

Such events are also desired in Darbėnai, Jokūbavas, Lazdininkai, Žibininkai at the restaurant “HBH” and even in Šiupariai, where the traffic is not really complicated.

However, the locations of these facilities have not yet been approved.
