Clinicas Santara begin the second phase of vaccination

In the second phase, scheduled from January 5 to 15, the medical and non-medical staff of the VUL Santara Clinics and the Vilnius Region Support Hospital will be vaccinated against COVID-19. Once the vaccination of these workers is completed, the vaccination of the highest risk groups will begin according to the priority list approved by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania.

The start of the third phase of vaccination is scheduled for January 17. At this stage, a second dose of the vaccine will be administered to doctors who have been vaccinated during the first stage of vaccination.

In the first stage of vaccination, which was completed on December 30 last year, 1,895 doctors from the Santara Clinics of Vilnius University Hospital were vaccinated, working in the hospital’s treatment units for patients with COVID-19, in addition to provide emergency therapeutic and surgical support, including myocardial infarction and stroke. activities for all residents of Vilnius and Alytus counties, employees of diagnostic units, COVID-19 laboratory, work with oncohematological patients and others.

As an institution that coordinates the vaccination process, Santara Clinics also organized the vaccination process in the Vilnius region support hospitals: Vilnius City Clinical, Vilnius Republic University, Mykolas Marcinkevičius, Alytus S. Kudirka and Ukmergė. Medical staff working with COVID-19 patients were also vaccinated here.

According to the data of January 5, 96% of all hospitalization places for the treatment of COVID-19 disease were occupied in the VUL Santara clinics, that is, 198 patients were treated and 86% of the places in the resuscitation and intensive care units were busy. (or 56 patients).

On Tuesday, 5 children with COVID-19 are being treated at the VUL Santara clinics.
