The group stage of the Olympic basketball tournament ended, after which eight teams continued to fight.
France, Australia, Slovenia and the top national team from the United States (USA), which triumphed in their groups, entered the first quarter-final lottery basket. They will not meet and accept the challenge of the second basket teams.
Italy, Spain, who were in second place, as well as the best third teams, Germany and Argentina, were also in the second basket.
Behind the playoffs were the Czech Republic, Iran, Nigeria and host Japan.
Immediately after the last group stage match between the Slovenian and Spanish press conferences, there was also a quarter-final draw, dividing the remaining teams into four pairs. All matches will be played on Tuesday, August 3.
Quarterfinal pairs:
4.00 am: Slovenia – Germany
7.40 am.: United States – Spain
11.20 hours: France – Italy
15.00 Val.: Australia – Argentina
In the semifinals, the winners of the French and Italian pair will be Slovenia or Germany. Meanwhile, the Americans or Spanish will play the semifinals against the Battle winners of Australia and Argentina.
