“Liabedzka has been arrested for an administrative offense,” Natalia Hanusevich, a spokeswoman for the Minsk militia, told Interfax.
Earlier on Thursday, the Belarusian opposition, citing Liabedzka’s longtime and close political comrades from the United Citizens Party, announced his likely arrest. Reports say that he did not attend the scheduled meeting and did not respond to calls.
S. Cichanouskaja, who left for Lithuania after the controversial presidential elections, appointed A. Liabedzka as one of his representatives on the issues of the proposed constitutional reform earlier this week.
