Some time ago, Andrei Malcev, who worked on the substitute team, joined Chimki’s coaching staff. He and A. Trifunovičius replace Robertas Kuncaitis and Giedrius Kurtinaitis at the head office.
The latter were fired in early December. The leaders of the team, which took last place in the Euroleague, also showed the doors to the physical trainer Evaldas Kandratavičius.
Club leaders reportedly will not limit such changes. Important changes to the team composition may also soon be made.
Russian media say Janis Timma and Jonas Jerebko can leave the team.

During his career, A. Trifunovičius coached Vilnius “Lietuvos rytas” twice: in 2006-2008, before R. Kurtinaitis took over the club, and in 2010-2011 R. Kurtinaitis left the club.
In 2011-2012, the strategist also managed Kaunas “Žalgiris”, and the last stop of his career was Aleksandrovac’s team “Igokea”, which was abandoned by the coach in the fall of 2019 due to a stroke.
