The Russian club has signed a long-term contract with Anton Ponkrasov, the long-term defender of the country’s team.

The 34-year-old, 200cm tall defender has not competed anywhere this season and last year represented the Zenit St. Petersburg team.

A. Ponkrašovas already defended the honor of the Chimki team in 2007-2009.

The greatest achievement of A. Ponkrašov’s career is the title of European champion won by the Russian team in 2007. At the 2012 London Olympics, he won bronze with the Russian team.

Chimki’s team, led by Andrejus Malcevas, who took command of the sacked Rimas Kurtinaitis, is no longer hopeful in the Euroleague. The team is in last place, winning 2 times in 21 matches.

In the VTB United League, Khimki basketball players have won 6 games in 12 matches and rank 8th out of 13 teams.
