Vilnius Rytas mutually decided not to resume cooperation and said goodbye to Rolandas Jarutis, who was acting director. Head coach Donald Kairis, along with the coaching staff, has been entrusted with the task of overseeing the club’s sporting affairs, according to the press release.
Georgios Dedas will be responsible for monitoring the European and US player markets and finding candidates. Giedrius Žibėnas will actively cooperate with the head coaches of the Youth Pyramid Rytas Edvinas Justa and Gintautas Regina, and will coordinate the development process of the club’s young talents.
Following the annual stakeholder meeting and audit findings, the Ryto Club decided to separate the club’s sporting and administrative activities. As previously announced, Justas Jankauskas will replace Jarutis as Director.
“We want to thank Roland for his work during the difficult pandemic,” said Darius Gudelis, chairman of the Rytas Club board of directors. – We appreciate your dedication to the East and your contribution to the youth program. We have a long-term strategy for the organization. I believe that the first months of work for the new coach showed that Donald’s experience and involvement is the beginning of a successful stage for Vilnius basketball. The coach is able to concentrate and achieve the result.
Keeping Arnas Butkevičius and Martynas Echodas on the team is proof of that. The coaching staff takes responsibility for Rytas’ sporting results, and the head of administration will handle orderly financial activities, office management, finding sponsors, idea generation, debt management, contracts. and many other matters. We are all convinced that such a model will help to move forward consistently. “
The Rytas club hopes that the capital’s basketball community will feel the obvious benefits of the change.

Last Wednesday, the Vilnius Morning Council was established at the shareholders’ meeting, which will be made up of representatives of the club’s fans, basketball veterans, partners and sponsors. She will discuss and generate new ideas and maintain a closer connection with the club community.
