Until the first session of November 13, the elected members of the Seimas must resign from any position that is incompatible with the parliamentary mandate.
Due to the threat of COVID-19, it was decided to hold the certification ceremony outside the Seimas, but in the open air.
The Lithuanian Parliament is made up of 141 representatives of the nation. The members of the Seimas are elected in 71 single-member electoral districts and one multi-member electoral district according to a mixed electoral system. In single-member constituencies, 71 members of the Seimas are elected by a two-round system, and in a multi-member constituency, 70 members of the Seimas are elected by a proportional system.
