A report by the archbishop, president of the Polish Episcopal Conference, Stanislaw Gadecki, says that Cardinal Henryk Gulbinowicz “caused pain” to the faithful.
The Vatican nunciature in Poland banned Gulbinowicz from wearing the bishop’s insignia earlier this month after the investigation and said he could not be buried in the cathedral.
