The brightest stars have worked hard to keep the energy going on the most virtual and largely pre-recorded show, Celebrating America. Among the various “live” artists was Bruce Springsteen, who grabbed his guitar solo, plus a statue of Abraham Lincoln in his neoclassical sanctuary.
The Bass, dressed in jeans and a black half jacket with three modest gold ear rings, performed Land of Hope and Dreams and started a show directed by actor Tom Hanks at the Lincoln Memorial.

Biden and his family saw pop star Demi Lovato singing “Lovely Day” by the late Bill Withers on a television screen in his new home in Washington, with the help of healthcare workers from across the country.
Rhythm Blues singer John Legend sensitively performed “Feeling Good” by Nina Simon.
“It was very special for me to celebrate with the country in front of this monument,” Legend wrote on Twitter. “And I really enjoyed honoring the late great Nina Simon, my constant source of musical inspiration.”
Katy Perry ended the evening with her fireworks, fireworks viewed from the balcony by Biden and his wife Jill, lighting up the sky over the Washington Memorial.
“New beginning”
Presidents, presidents-elect, and presidential candidates have traditionally struggled to rely on stellar influences and music to enhance their image.
Biden, in addition to celebrities, was also supported by his predecessors: Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton delivered a video address to the leader and the outgoing country of the United States.
“It’s a new beginning,” Clinton said. “Everybody needs to come down from the heights and help their friends and neighbors make it work.”
Stars like Yo-Yo Ma, John Bon Jovi, and Justin Timberlake with Anth Clemons also appeared on the special primetime broadcast. Puerto Rican artists Luis Fonsi and Ozuna performed the mega hit Despacito.
“For some, the inauguration of the president is a tradition, something that marks the commitment to a new four-year term,” Hanks said. “However, inauguration day is nothing more than an oath by other leaders of the country, and on this day we see the stability of our American ideal.”
Both Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris also appeared at the Lincoln Memorial. According to Harris, this moment “embodies our character as a country.”
“Show who we are; “Even in the dark, we don’t just dream, we do,” said the first woman to serve as the vice president of the United States.
“We don’t just see what it was; we see what it can be. We look for the Moon and then we raise our flag on it, “he added.
