Will hang up another camcorder
Proud, strong, stubborn, energetic – this is how the Eastern European Shepherd is described, commonly known to breeders as the Eastern European Wolf. In Lithuania, it is a rapidly growing breed of dog, the history of which still goes back to the 1st century. The second dog runs behind the residence of its owner: priest, doctor of pastoral theology, pastor of the Church Miroslav St. Trinity, M. Dovda. It is true that the first quadruped, who was already four years old, was more frequently cared for by the clergyman and father, who came at the dawn of his life, as he himself said, to help his son, who often goes to study in Poland, on the farm.
The shepherd and the second pet chose the same breed. Although the so-called Eastern European wolves are great at protecting the area, they tend to interact a lot with humans. Hela, a very young pet of the priest Miroslav, was very sociable and not aggressive.
But on Thursday, July 15, as usual at night, ready to seduce the dog, the clergyman missed it. You could not find your pet outdoors or at home. It was worrying that you couldn’t see the leash and suspenders stored in the usual place on the deck.
The priest and his colleague went out to town and asked the people. Finally, he reported the alleged theft to the police officers. Two hours after the search for the dog and the pastor’s return to the rectory, Hela’s barking was heard, the pastor found her in the “Carito” parish.
Finding the owner of the pet, as he himself said, he hurried even without locking the rectory, and when he did not find any quadrupeds he returned home from a distance he heard his voice. Hela, according to the pastor, has never been there. The more so since the door to the room was closed, so that the dog himself could not enter and then close. There was also a leash in the room, and next to the terrace the shepherd also found a dog clamp.
M. Dovda says that he wants to believe that this is just a failed prank for children, but the wolf is not sterilized, so it is possible to suspect a case of theft, because the dog is breeding and expensive. The pastor of the Miroslav Church is considering taking preventive measures and installing another video camera, because he was not on the terrace where the dog was.
Everything ended happily, so the pastor of the Miroslav Church, the vice-philosopher of the court of the diocese of Vilkaviškis, M.Dovda, did not write a statement to the officials.
During the search several times he heard the howl of a dog
When word spread that even two breeds of dogs had disappeared in the Miroslav area a little earlier, the parishioners began to worry that this was not really a joke, but rather someone’s serious intention to appropriate a four-year-old dog. rarer legs. Over the weekend, we contacted a pastor respected by the faithful to ask if everything was okay for his pet. We also wonder if we were correct in saying that the second shepherd’s dog was the same breed.
“Yes, it is an Eastern European wolf, just another, because the first dog of this breed died of disease and old age. Hela receives a different education, she is very friendly with everyone. I will have to teach him differently now so that he is friendly only when I am around. I consider that the disappearance of the pet is a failed joke because it was taken and sheltered somewhere nearby. We have heard her howl several times while searching, because Hela has such a property that if it is closed or tied, it cries terribly, it howls. When we started looking, and when I left the house I left them unlocked, someone took Hela up because the video camera shows her entering. The view of the door is not visible, it is not clear who opened it. Hearing cases of stolen dogs in Meteliai and elsewhere, I was very scared and reported it to the police. I think it was someone’s failed prank or a reckless desire to play with Hela, ”says M. Ddada. Note that after the disappearance, the pet became different, began to bark more and surround everyone, if not close to the owner, perhaps due to the stress experienced, the dog’s behavior changed.
After the restoration of Lithuanian independence, in 2004 the first four-legged Eastern European Shepherd breed was registered in our country, and a year later the first litter was registered. It is quite a rare variety. At present, more than 450 representatives of this breed of dog are registered in the Lithuanian Dog Breed Book.
It is considered that the beginning of the history of the variety dates back to 1940. 1924-1936 several small groups of German Shepherds of different types and characteristics were brought from Germany to the then Soviet Union. The further breeding of these dogs was aimed at the development of a new breed, a breed capable of working in the army, border guards and the police in a variety of natural and climatic conditions. Therefore, it was not enough to cross the imported German Shepherds with the help of local dogs with the desired characteristics. The first breed standard for the Eastern European Shepherd was developed and approved by the Soviet Union in 1955. DNA tests show that the Eastern European Shepherd has eastern Siberian blood.
The Eastern European Shepherd is larger than the German Shepherd. Their height at the withers – 66-71 cm, females – 58-66 cm. Short, dense coat with undercoat. Strong bones, muscular build. Available in black and brown, black, reddish brown. Rare colors would be bluish (on the back or all over the body), silver, all white.
The head resembles a wolf, proportional to the body. The neck is long enough. Well developed lower jaw, can bite hard. Oval, dark eyes, close together, of medium size. The eyelids are shiny. Available eye colors: amber, brown and light brown. The back is strong, wide and long. Strong and straight legs.
