A Vilnius resident who loaded smuggled cigarettes into his garage was arrested.
On Wednesday, border guards from the Criminal Intelligence Division of the Vilnius Border Team of the State Border Guard Service (SBGS) arrived at the garage in the Fabijoniškės district of Vilnius. It was known that illegal cargo could be stored here.
In one of the garages, the border guards met 60 Vilnius residents. Toyota Corolla loaded cigarettes.

In total, criminals from the Vilnius team found 5,481 packages of various types of smokers marked with Belarusian excise placards or without stamps on the car and garage of Vilnius residents. Of these, 491 sachets were IQOS brand incandescent tobacco products.
A pre-trial investigation has been launched at the SBGS Vilnius Border Guard team regarding the illegal disposal of excise goods. The man faces a fine or a prison sentence of up to four years.
On Thursday, the detainee continued to be questioned and a decision was made to take him into custody.
