“Belarusian propagandists who constantly tell fictitious stories about the violence of Lithuanian border guards and the inhumane treatment of migrants are cautiously silent that Belarusian force structures use brutal physical force at the state border.
This is how Belarusian officials wearing riot gear in Švenčionys district drove out a group of 13 migrants with metal shields, ”reads the official account of the State Border Guard Service (SBGS).
According to border guards, the migrants who stayed between the two countries for several days refused to go to Lithuania, wanted to return to Belarus and leave home. SBGS officials provided them with food and water regularly.
“Currently, the 13 immigrants are in Belarus, following the decision of the head of emergency operations at the state level, and they have no longer approached the state border,” writes SBGS.
SBGS says the situation eased earlier this week. It started late last week. Border guards cannot reveal specific details and hours or exact geographic locations.
