Tverečius border guards detained 14 illegal immigrants: seven men, two women and five minors. They all had passports of Iraqi citizens who did not have Schengen visas.

The border guards initiated the initial steps of the asylum procedure and informed the Migration Department about it.

The migrants were handed over to the Švenčionys border barracks, where there are special rooms for asylum seekers. The aliens were tested for COVID-19 on Friday. Answers are expected on Saturday, which will address the issue of accommodation for foreigners.
