Bolt Food couriers prepare for strike again: demanding higher wages and stable working conditions

In the absence of a response, the messengers promise to protest and do not rule out the possibility of a strike, the association said in a statement.

The association demands to regulate the hiring of new messengers. According to the association, the company refuses to officially report how many couriers it has hired and is constantly accepting new ones to increase pressure on those already working and “beat prices.”

In addition, they ask that the agreement establish a minimum base rate of € 3.5. The base rate is currently € 3 per delivery, reduced to € 2.8 in summer.

“Currently, Bolt does not sign an employment or service contract with the couriers, which can lead to unilateral changes in rates. Couriers continue to demand the possibility of choosing their own payment options: working according to the price of an order or receive a stable hourly wage, ”the report states.

Among other things, the company is urged to offset transportation costs and operating costs incurred, such as winter tires for cyclists.

In July this year, Bolt Food couriers went on strike due to reduced delivery rates.
