“It is very likely,” Calhoun said in an interview with NBC, asking if one of the major US airlines would fail.

“It just came to our attention then. Flight flows will not return to 100%. Level, they will not even reach 25%. (Previous number of flights),” Calhoun said.

Boeing is also experiencing a crisis caused by the coronavirus, which has led to travel restrictions and quarantine. The company’s customers are halting flight bookings because it’s unclear when demand for flights will pick up.

“Perhaps by the end of the year we will reach 50 percent. The number of flights, so airlines will definitely have to make changes,” added Calhoun.

Calhon became the head of Boeing earlier this year when the company was already hit by the Boeing 737 Max crisis. This Boeing model will be banned from 2019. March, after two planes crashed and more than 300 people died.
