He is so hopeful that the ruling authorities will take into account the opinion of many Lithuanians and the president’s proposal to legalize direct mayoral elections in the Constitution as soon as possible.
“It would be very unwise if the political forces did not agree. People are in favor of direct mayoral elections. The most important thing for them is to know what they are collecting. There is very little time left in the Constitution to legitimize mayors. directly elected, we have to have a decision to change the Constitution by the middle of next year.
