According to the minister, the State Emergency Commission under his leadership will consider a quarantine release strategy on Monday, which contemplates and will continue to follow the scenarios A, B, C, D previously planned at the national level, but there will also be adjustments. to allow decisions on individual municipalities.
“One of the proposals may be that separate quarantine release plans can be offered to municipalities that are ‘green’, that is, the situation in them is significantly better,” he told LRT radio on Monday.
According to the minister, this Wednesday the government will be offered to decide on the plan.
“I think it’s really realistic that we can consider it at this week’s Government meeting and move towards that. Because we really see significant differences. If, for example, we take the municipality of Visaginas, where there is a significant morbidity rate, that is, more than 800, if we take, for example, the municipality of Rietavas or Birštonas, we see that the numbers are different and we can speak of different regimes. ”A. Bilotaitė affirmed.
At the same time, he emphasized that there would be no talk of eliminating restrictions on movement between municipalities so as not to create “centers of gravity”, and that the introduction of a freer regime would require municipalities to guarantee the testing and traceability of COVID-19 points access.
“When it comes to ‘green’ municipalities, the focus is likely to be on educational services, perhaps communication between different households, and that is what we are going to associate with municipal exemptions,” he said.
The minister recalled that from Monday, stricter controls will also be introduced for passengers arriving in Lithuania from abroad at the airports and the port of Klaipeda.
Seimas President Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen stated on Facebook over the weekend that some services and businesses could open in Rietavas in the near future, as well as in Jurbarkas, Kalvarija or Birštonas.
The second quarantine in Lithuania has been in force since the beginning of November, during which cafes, bars and restaurants, sports clubs, cinemas, spectators at sporting events, restricted lessons in schools, movement between municipalities are prohibited.
