The Šiauliai Aušra Museum has a rich and rich collection of gloves. Some of them are already in their second century, according to a press release.

Sunday gloves had monochromatic and patterned cuffs and fingers. The patterned mittens were woven single and double with geometric and stylized plant ornaments: triangles, rhombuses, windows, stars, roses. On a dark background (usually brown or black), orange, brownish-red, green and white wool patterns were woven.

Double gloves are designed for those who especially crave warmth. Their upper parts are usually printed and the lining of the gloves is white wool or another neutral color. Sometimes the wrist of a double glove is monochromatic, and sometimes with a knitted pattern.

From these gloves you can see what decoration and ornaments are common in Samogitia and northern Lithuania.
