“I have not received an official document that I am removed from my position. At the end of September, a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus phoned and announced that my duties were over, only a certain level of knowledge,” said G Logvin to the portal.

N. Logvinas heads the Belarusian community “Krynica” operating in Klaipeda. Last year, he was elected president of the organization of all national and social communities of Belarus in Lithuania.

Following the outbreak of protests in Belarus over rigged presidential elections, N. Logvin called on the government, on behalf of the Belarusian Lithuanian public organizations, to resolve conflicts peacefully and not use force to suppress protest actions.

Logvin’s second term was due to end in March of next year. He worked as an honorary consul for five years.

It is not yet clear whether the Belarusian consulate in Klaipeda has been abolished or whether another person will hold the post of honorary consul.
