Russia’s General Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement that “32 Russian nationals who had previously been detained in Belarus have crossed the border and are now in Russia.”

The report adds that another person with dual citizenship remained in Belarus.

On July 29, the Belarusian security services arrested 33 Russian citizens and announced that they were members of the private Russian military company Wagner.

Belarus has accused the arrested Russians of destabilizing the country by inciting mass unrest alongside opposition leaders.

Russia has demanded that Belarus release detainees who, according to Moscow, have not committed any crime.
