Walden, who is competing in Serbia for the second season, will now have two nationalities.
A 28-year-old basketball player born in Florida and with a Serbian passport will have the right to stop being a legionnaire in Crvena Zvezda’s races during local competitions.
After a season in Belgrade, the 188cm defender who moved to Partizan from Crvena Zvezda last summer is one of the team’s leaders.
In the Euroleague, he scores 10.9 points and makes 2.3 assists.

Crvena Zvezda, who is ranked 17th in the Euroleague, will visit Kaunas this week, where he will play Žalgiris on Thursday.
The Serbian citizenship granted to Walden will extend the rotation of the Crvena Zvezda team on the home front.
You cannot trust more than four legionnaires in the Serbian championship and cup, and the Belgrade club has more.
Crvena Zvezda is also represented by the Americans Langston Hall, Jordan Loyd, Johny O’Bryant, the Australian Duop Reath, the Cameroonian Land Nnoko, the Andorean Quino Colom.

Walden is not the first American basketball player to obtain Serbian citizenship. Charles Jenkins and Kevin Punter got it easily too.
