Duškas Ivanovičius students in the quarterfinals of the Madrid tournament 96:87 (26:17, 27:30, 23:21, 18:19) defeated the basketball players of Badalona Joventut.
Giedraitis was one of the main blacksmiths of the Vitoria team. The Lithuanian scored 19 points (3/6 doubles, 4/5 trit., 1/2 penalty) in 30 minutes, bounced 3 and took 2 balls, made 2 assists, made a mistake and scored 19 utility points.
Sedekerski spent 8 minutes on the floor and scored 2 points (1/1 double), bounced 1 ball and scored 3 utility points.
The game was better started by the Basques, who achieved a double-digit lead after Pierria Henry’s colón at the end of the first half (28:17). Before the long break, the Badalona team managed to melt the deficit a bit and after two halves the teams scored 8 points – 55:47.
The third quarter belonged to Giedraitis, in which the Lithuanian scored 10 points, and his “Baskonia” took a double-digit lead to the deciding quarter (78:68).
Ivanovičius’s students finally settled their affairs in the fourth quarter, when they broke 9: 0 and took a 19-point lead behind Achille Polonara’s colon (87:68).
The most useful player at Joventut was Ante Tomičius, who scored 14 points (4/7 doubles, 1/1 trit., 3/3 penalty) in 25.5 minutes, bounced 11 balls, gave 4 assists, made 4 errors and he committed an offense and scored 19 efficiency points.
