A driver born in 1993 was automatically drawn up and sent a report with an administrative order, a fine of 225 euros and a monthly period of disqualification from driving.

Last week, several other Road Traffic Rules violations were cleared up, including drunk car and bicycle drivers, drivers who had no right to drive, hooligan driving cases, and pedestrian violations.

On November 13 and 14, officers also organized events in Kaunas, Kaunas and Jonava districts. Several drunk drivers were identified, up to 3 drivers who had no right to drive, 4 vehicles that were not registered, and other isolated traffic offenses.

Most drivers still ignore the requirement of the Road Traffic Regulations: the prohibition of the use of mobile devices while driving, therefore, this week, from November 16 to 22, the police, both on the county roads of Kaunas as in the whole country, is organizing specific preventive measures.

New official cars were consecrated and patrolled in Kaunas last week, which, together with the unmarked police cars, will carry out the planned preventive measures. Attention will be taken to ensure that drivers do not engage in outside activities while driving that are not related to safe traffic.

Administrative liability for non-compliance with the prohibition for drivers to use mobile devices when using them manually (except when the engine of a stationary vehicle is off) is provided for in the Code of Administrative Offenses (Article 417, paragraph 3). The fine ranges between 60 and 90 euros, and for this offense driving can be suspended for 1 to 3 months.

In Kaunas County, 19 road users died this year (last year 26 at the end of November last year), another 629 were injured (last year 672).
