According to the State Border Guard Service, officials detained a 42-year-old Utena resident who arrived on a flight from the French capital Paris on Thursday. Border guards found their police-announced search in the same city nearly five years ago. Utena is accused of committing a crime.

Border guards took the passenger to the firewall facility and then handed him over to the convoy that arrived from the initiator of the search.

On the same day, border guards verified the documents of people arriving from the British city of Birmingham at the Vilnius airport. During the inspection, it was discovered that the 36-year-old resident of the Marijampolė district has problems with the police. Marijampolė police announced the search for a man convicted of a crime in September last year.

The detained Marijampolė was soon handed over by the border guards to the police officers who arrived at the airport.

This year, a total of 1,708 people were arrested by SBGS officials, who were wanted by Lithuanian and foreign police institutions for various crimes and violations.
