At the remote court hearing via Zoom, the judge did not expect to see the kitten

When Judge Roy Ferguson of Texas, USA, opened a remote court hearing at Zoom on February 9, you really didn’t expect to see two lawyers and … a kitten on your computer screen.

The incredibly cute blue cat in the lower right corner was actually District Attorney Rhode Pontoon, who accidentally turned on the filter.

“Mr. Pontoon, I think you accidentally activated the filter in the video settings,” the judge commented.

Ponton says his assistant is trying to fix the settings. “Here I am, directly, I am not a cat,” exclaimed the prosecutor. “I see,” replied the judge.

“The faces of all the participants appeared on the screen. All but mine. A cat appeared in my place. I thought, and what the hell is here, what happened. I can work with a computer, but I am definitely not a tech savvy, I didn’t know how to remove that filter. I didn’t even know what the Zoom filter was, “said District Attorney Rhodes Pontoon.

The judge helped remove the filter and the hearing finally began.

Judge Ferguson called the incident a “fun experience.”
