A. Glebauskas began his performance from a poster raised to a height of 215 cm. It surpassed both this and the heights of 219 and 223 cm for the first time.

He was unable to extend the successful series of Lithuanian jumpers and take the medal of the third consecutive championship, in 2017 and 2019. In the championships, A. Palšytė won gold and bronze, respectively.
A. Glebauskas reached the final on Thursday, when he surpassed the height of 221 cm on the second attempt and shared 4-5 places.
To win a medal in the competition that takes place in Torun (Poland), A. Glebauskas needed a record for almost an indoor race: this year he jumped a poster raised to a height of 227 cm. This is only one centimeter worse than the country’s interior record, which belongs to Raivydas Stanius.
Belarusian Maxim Nedasekau won the champion title in Toruń, having won the spectacular fight in 2019. Italian European champion Gianmarco Tamberi.
The 23-year-old Belarusian beat his career record on his first attempt by jumping over a 237cm high poster. G.Tamberi could not do it, although he had previously exceeded a height of 235 cm, in which M.Nedasekau failed twice.
This is the first Belarusian medal in the European Indoor Championships. He was only 14 years old two years ago.

A. Glebauskas participated in the European Championship for the second time, but reached the final for the first time. Two years ago in Glasgow, he jumped 221cm tall and held eleventh.
In Torun, he was the only one of the nine Lithuanians to reach the final. The other eight athletes withdrew from the fight for the medals after the qualifying or semi-final stages.
