According to the preliminary results of the Seimas elections, the Lithuanian Christian Democrats of the National Union will have 49 seats in the new Seimas, the Liberal Movement 13 seats, and the Freedom Party 11 seats.
Conservatives have another chance to win by counting votes in Utena, where Social Democratic President Gintautas Paluckas and Conservative Representative Edmundas Pupinis received the same support from voters.
However, the ruling coalition can be supported by at least three other members of the Seimas.
Although according to the ideology it would be understood that the center-right coalition would be supported by Remigijus Žemaitaitis, the only representative of the Freedom and Justice Party elected to the new legislature, he does not intend to support the coalition at least for the moment.

“I will stay in the mixed group because I am alone, it would be difficult to say more. Results are needed “, – 15 minutes said the politician, adding that the conservative behavior repelled him.
V. Bakas: the defendant cannot appoint the president of the Seimas
But at least three other politicians are considering supporting a crushed coalition, although for some of them, the ideologically center-right coalition could be much further away. One of them is Vytautas Bakas, who was elected to the Seimas of this period with “peasants”, but later left the LVŽS faction.
He assured that the issue of support for the coalition is early, but so far it is quite likely that it supports those in power.
I am open to proposals, I can work both in position and in opposition, but my main focus will be on regional politics, because we have brutally neglected those regions when they look at the differences between Vilnius, Alytus and Marijampolė, it is the same as between Lithuania and Romania. <...>. If the government sees a clear plan on how to revive Alytus’ hot economy in particular <...>“I will support such a government,” said the MP-elect in the single-member parliament of Alytus.

V. Bakas assured that the anti-corruption program continues to be important to him personally.
“I find it difficult, well, now I see discussions about the ambitions of some of the courts in charge of Spokesperson for Seimas, so it is difficult for me to imagine how the court will be able to appoint, for example, a Supreme Court judge.” We will have to discuss this with the future majority. I don’t want to say, I only have one vote, but I have certain principles, criteria that the future majority will have to meet to receive support, ”said V. Bak.
He said he would not consider joining any of the Seimas factions “at least until January” and that he intended to work in a mixed group of Seimas members for at least the first months of the new term.
Mr. Griškevičius promises support in the first votes
However, the deputy mayor of Šiauliai, Domas Griškevičius, who was elected a member of the Seimas, says that he is confident that he will support the candidacy of V. Čmilytė-Nielsen for the presidency of the Seimas.
“As Victoria is from Šiauliai, lives in my district, of course she can’t help but support Šiauliai. If those speeches are floating around the possibility of Victoria being nominated for the post of Speaker of the Seimas, then I can certainly say with confidence that you will have my voice. ” 15 minutes he said.

D.Griškevičius assured that in the first votes the coalition could be sure of its support: the posts, the government program, the budget.
“And then you have to look at the work and evaluate it, but basically, it does not mean that I join the majority, that I work in a mixed group, but depending on the decisions, I support them or not according to my beliefs,” said the politician.
Former Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius, who has now become the sole representative of the Lithuanian Green Party in the Seimas, is also considering supporting the rulers.

“I will definitely not be in a mixed group, because the last four years of my political life have been the most unproductive for me.” 15 minutes acknowledged the former prime minister.
The Lithuanian National-Democratic-Christian Union, which formed the ruling coalition, does not rule out accepting the support of other politicians, but so far they do not speak of the need for the coalition to seek a fourth partner. It is true that Gabriel Landsbergis admitted on Monday that he had already received a call from the Labor Party, but they did not invite him to form a government.
