A list of the names of the detained protesters is published on the Center’s website and is constantly updated.

Most of the detainees are in the capital, Minsk. In addition, human rights defenders have information that people were detained in Grodno, Brest, Vitebsk, Barysave, Salihorske, Novopolotsk.

The protests took place in various districts of the Belarusian capital and other cities in the country, people with white-red-white symbols gathered in columns. It is difficult to calculate the exact number of participants. The force structures obstructed the march and detained people.

This is the second weekend of protests, when mobile internet has not been disconnected in Minsk and metro stations have not been closed.

For the fifth month in a row, Belarus has faced massive protests over the August 9 presidential election, which Lukashenko has ruled the country since 1994. The opposition and Western democracies consider these elections rigged.

The protesters are demanding the resignation of Lukashenko, the release of political prisoners and new elections.
