But one thing really surprised me. This is a committee vote. The scores from the Foreign Relations Commission showed something strange: competition or hostility, or what to call it?
This year’s winner, famous for his taste in music, is Italy: his commission awarded Lithuania up to 12 points – the highest amount possible! And our closest creative travelers, our Polish neighbors, “brothers” and colleagues, and Estonian neighbors … You go here and I was amazed.
The Polish commission did not award Lithuania … any points. Estonian commission only 2 points, Latvia – 6. How can they not be ashamed?
The commissions of all countries supported their neighbors and that is normal. This is the case every year. Nearby countries have similar musical tastes, as well as a natural desire to support each other. Where did that wish go this year?
Ukraine is good too. I don’t remember how many points your commission gave Lithuania, but certainly not to a certain extent. Although in the past we exchange high scores and support each other. By the way, we have also assigned 12 to Ukraine this year.
Who is here, maybe jealousy? It was very surprising that it did not have the support of the three nearby countries that did not reach the final at all. Perhaps this is how the commissions of Estonia, Latvia and Poland took revenge on us? Jealousy, you know, a powerful force. What is clear in yesterday’s vote.
