A. Armonaitė repeatedly emphasized that the party would strive to create a freer Lithuania. When asked if there are any plans to initiate a review or change to the list of prohibitions currently in force, the politician said that the party has already discussed this in the meeting.
“There are some things that are hurting people a lot right now. For example, freezing permafrost harms infertile couples trying to take advantage of assisted reproductive services. This thing must be canceled immediately.
I reviewed some possible alcohol control decisions, but this is another job, ”said A. Armonaitė.
Asked whether, like the “peasants”, they would start working in the Seimas from the assisted reproduction law, A. Armonaitė said: “It is possible that we will correct the draconian mistakes they made, which harm infertile families.”
The leader of the Freedom Party also spoke about the decriminalization of soft drugs and the possibility of forming families for same-sex couples.
“First of all, we will try ourselves that the psychoactive substances that people have to carry with them for no purpose are not included in the Penal Code so that they are decriminalized, as is the case in civilized western countries. Lithuania is one of those states. (…)
We will also strive to give same-sex couples the opportunity to legalize family relationships, ”said A. Armonaitė.
The politician said that the party’s key message so far was that this political force would like to join the center-right coalition if it received such an invitation.
“It is important for us to bring changes to education, to the economic agenda that creates jobs for ourselves and others, and finally to address the fundamental human rights issues that have plagued us for 30 years,” he said.
When asked whether it would be better to work in a fragile coalition with the TS-LKD and the Liberal Movement, or a strong one with the Labor Party, A. Armonaitė laughed.
“The Freedom Party has no speech with the Labor Party,” he said.
