The Plenary Assembly in Rome also elected two new Vice-Presidents of the Council of European Episcopal Conferences: Archbishop Jean-Claude Hollerich of Luxembourg and Bishop Ladislav Nemet, President of the International Conference of Bishops Cyril and Methodius in Belgrade.
Archbishop G. Grušas is the first Lithuanian bishop to lead the Council of European Episcopal Conferences, which this year celebrates its 50th anniversary.
