An unexpected victory in the Finnish bubble was recorded by the Swiss team (1-2), which after a persistent struggle 92:90 (28:25, 21:19, 24:28, 19:18) broke Serbian basketball players (1-2) coached by Igor Kokoškov.
The hero of the match was Dushan Mladyan, who hit a colón distant 0.3 seconds and thus snatched the victory from Switzerland.
Midway through the fourth quarter, the Swiss trailed 83:85, but Mladian scored 4 points in a row, Roberto Kovač scored three points and with just over two minutes to go, Switzerland gained a 5-point lead – 90:85 .
Still, the Serbs embarked on a decisive assault. Aleksa Avramovičius made a successful foray to the basket, Draganas Apičius scored points from under the basket and soon added a well-aimed free kick and, 35 seconds later, Serbia tied the score – 90:90.
The Swiss had a good chance of regaining the advantage, but Patrick Baldassarre missed both penalties and the result remained unchanged. However, on the other side of the pitch, Danilo Andjušič made a mistake and the decisive attack went to the Swiss, who was masterfully executed by Mladjan.
