This was the Lithuanian team’s fourth consecutive game, in which they achieved a win or at least a draw.
The last time the Lithuanians had such a successful stage was in 2016, when they also did not lose four times in a row, played three times and achieved a victory.
At home 0: 1, the Albanians, who landed for the Lithuanian team, came to Vilnius only for victory, but failed to break through the hosts’ barricades.
Goalkeeper Tomas Švedkauskas, who earned the title of best footballer of the Lithuanian national team in this match, was the one who contributed the most, having resisted at least some attempts by the Albanians to reach the goal.
Probably the most shocking episode of the Lithuanian goalkeeper came after just over an hour, when T.Švedkauskas with his legs extended stopped the ball released by Taulanto Seferi, who escaped from the goalkeeper.
Arvydas Novikovas, who scored three goals in the previous two matches, had the best chances in the ranks of the Lithuanian team. Before the match, it was doubtful that the midfielder, who suffered a hand injury, would be able to play, but the Lithuanian leader scared the Albanians at least twice: once his shot was blocked by the goalkeeper and otherwise A Novikov did not hit the goal from a rather grateful situation.
