Officials found about a kilogram of possible narcotic psychotropic substances in the man’s home: amphetamines, ecstasy, cannabis and psychotropic drugs.
Equipment for weighing psychotropic substances, containers and commercially available cash for narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances were also found and seized.
The suspect (born 1981) was in preventive detention for two months.
A pre-trial investigation is currently underway in accordance with article 259 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Lithuania and article 260 of the same Code. The Criminal Code of the Republic of Lithuania provides for prison terms of 2 to 15 years for offenses related to the distribution of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
The pre-trial investigation is controlled by the Utena District Prosecutor’s Office of the Panevėžys Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
Gytis Makaveckas, chief of the Organized Crime Investigation Division of the Utena County Police Chief Commissariat, emphasizes that the detainee has also been a suspect in another pre-trial investigation into the distribution of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances. The suspect allegedly distributed narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances not only in Anykščiai district, but also in Utena, Zarasai and Molėtai districts.
