An important connection is being paved in the capital: it will no longer be necessary to dig on a gravel road

“Soon, the existing gravel road on the Mykolo Lietuvio section of street will be replaced by a new asphalt pavement. This unpaved section of the street was a very inconvenient connection for nearby communities wishing to connect to the Mokslininkų street block or exit to Geležinio Vilko street. By ordering this section of the street, the residents will save time and patience, and it will be much easier for the city to maintain the street, ”says Virginijus Pauža, Head of the Infrastructure Department of the Municipality of Vilnius.

Preparatory works are currently being carried out to maintain the streets: the existing soil is being excavated, the drainage of rainwater is being managed, sand foundations are being installed, reports the municipality.

In order for the traffic participants to feel the least possible inconvenience, the renovation of Mykolo Lietuvio Street will take place not only during the day, but also at night. Traffic on the section of Mykolo Lietuvio Street between Noragiškių and B. Krivicko streets will be prohibited until December 20. Residents of B. Krivicko Street will be able to approach from the Pašilaičių street side and Noragiškių from the Santariškių street side. Warning signs, signs and temporary information booths will be installed on the road, and billboards will announce repairs.

This year, even more efforts have been made to improve the city’s infrastructure and manage the city, and about 37 million. The budget for the maintenance and development of the Road Maintenance and Development Program: about 25 km of streets were paved, 34 km of sidewalks were built and repaired, about 15 km of gravel roads were paved in several elderly people.
