According to Amber Grid, gas is supplied to this region of Russia in transit through Lithuania from Belarus. The reasons for the suspension of gas transit, according to the company, were not indicated.

“Flows to Lithuania from Belarus are stable. Lithuania’s gas transmission infrastructure is operating in normal mode,” the report said.

The company claims that all Lithuanian gas consumers receive natural gas from the Klaipėda liquefied natural gas terminal, the underground gas storage facility of Latvia and Belarus.

According to Amber Grid, Amber Grid fulfills its obligations under the agreement with Gazprom, which is valid until the end of 2025, regarding the transit of gas to Königsberg. The contract stipulates that gas is transported according to the “ship or pay” formula. It is claimed that the failure to transport gas to Königsberg will have no financial consequences for Amber Grid.
