Such a clause will be available in cases where primary school parents or guardians cannot work remotely and at the same time take care of children at home. These conditions will apply exclusively to doctors, special services and other professions, insofar as their work is directly related to the management and prevention of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as in case of unavoidable need.

To take advantage of such an opportunity, parents must submit documents confirming the nature of their work to educational institutions within the established period, emphasizes the report of the Kaunas city municipality.
In accordance with all safety requirements, schools will provide care and meals for children whose parents are required to perform work functions at the workplace and cannot work remotely. However, the usual direct lessons will not take place: with the help of support specialists in their schools, the young residents of Kaunas will also study remotely.

In other cases, parents who cannot work remotely and care for a beginner are entitled to sickness benefit. For childcare, the child’s working parents, guardians, or grandparents may be paid.
Secondary, basic and non-formal education will continue to be taught at a distance.

“Changes in the activities of the Kaunas kindergartens are not expected from Monday. They will function normally. However, parents are advised and requested not to send kindergarten and preschool children to educational institutions, if the possibility exists ”, says the report of the municipality of Kaunas.
