Over the weekend, four new cases of covid-19 were registered in the Rokiškis district. New cases: one Rokiškės came from abroad, and the remaining two cases were caused by previous local outbreaks: two Rokiškės and one blackbird became infected. There are 16 cases of covid-19 in the area. Andrius Burnickas, head of the District Municipality’s Commission for Emergency Situations, spoke about the situation.
Ridiškis has been included in the list of high-risk municipalities since last Friday. What does this mean? According to A. Burnickas, the number of evaluated residents of the district will increase.
Among the patients is a student from the Juozas Tumas-Vaižgantas gym. According to A. Burnickas, given that part of the educational process is organized remotely by the gymnasium, this student had no contact with the teachers or with his classmates. Therefore, the school does not need to switch to full distance education.
There is also a debate in the district about whether people are adequately fulfilling their duty of self-isolation. Were there discussions in the Emergency Commission about how to discipline these people? According to the head of the commission, the biggest problem is the poor communication of information between the institutions. The available lists of people who may have been in contact with the infected, as well as those who have returned from foreign countries subject to self-isolation, are very incomplete, according to A. Burnickas. Therefore, it is difficult to check how one or another person complies with the obligation of self-isolation.
